Hello Elliot,
Toshiba released a 2GB PC-Card which looks almost identical to the Kingst=
on
Harddisk.
! BUT you CAN'T use it as ROOT drive in a MobilePro 770 ! The circuitry o=
f
MP770 isn't capable
of running PC-Cards with power specs that exceed the values of IBM's 1G
Microdrive.
After booting from a CF-Flash Disk it is possible to insert the Toshiba
Harddrive (or an old 340MB Microdrive) as 2nd drive
and mount it as /usr or whatever you want - but NEC MobilePro 770 and Sha=
rp
Mobilon Tripad and Vadem Clio 1000
are not able to supply the power peak when the kernel probes hardware
during the boot process.
NEC Mobile Pro 780 and Vadem Clio 1050 have improved power circuits and a=
re
expected to cope with 2GB PC-Card Harddisks.

Additional question: Has anyone tried to use icewm yet ?
