Hello:

I've ignored hpcmips for a while, as my z50 with 1.5.2 runs so well, that
i've been afraid to mess with a good thing.

I got a Compaq 2010c off this list about a year or so ago, but 1.5 wouldn't
boot on it, so I put it in a drawer.

I was poking around the hpcmips and of course started to finally read about
1.6.1, and wow-- it claims support for the 2010c!

I'm just in the middle of installing it now, using a 2Gig Toshiba PCMCIA
hd. So far it looks cool. I'm wondering if X is fully supported on this
display...

The only downside is of course, with just one crappy PCMCIA slot, I've got
a harddrive, but no ethernet!

I've been looking around for a pcmcia ethenet + FlashRam, but haven't seen
anything with more than 128megs, which is a shame.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has put 1.6.1 on one of these Compaq
2010cs. The interesting thing is that I think that they have two pcmcia
controllers, since in wince it lists two interfaces, but of course there is
physically only one. I wonder if there is a way to get to the otherone. I
guess I'll open it up and look at the MB.

Well, if your using the 2010c, please let me know.

I'll have to get another microdrive and play with 1.6.1 on the z50.

Real quick, can people confirm that the 1.6.1 generic kernel has pointer
support and suspend?

thanks,
