Thanks for the info.
Sounds like a general malaise. The bootloader seemed to work, but
the reboot froze everything up (left it for 30 mins just in case
it was a super slow boot, definitely a problem). Guess there's a
list of experiments in the offing.

Last time I tried booting NetBSD on my PenCentra 200 (a TX3922 system)
it didn't even get to printing the copyright, and I don't think anything
has changed since then. I have not been able to load anything past 1.5 on
it, although I haven't tried very often. I suspect this is a generic
TX3922 issue (I was going to try to blink the led first thing in the
kernel to see if it gets that far, but haven't got around to it yet). If
you use hpcboot, be aware that not all of the entries in the menu actually
correspond with settings (there is a list in one of the source files under
arch/hpc/stand/hpcboot; only those that match that list have settings).
