I finally manage to instal NetBSD/hpcmips on my Sharp HC 7000, which is probably a verison of Telios AJ1 using ftp install via a CF-lan card at the CF slot and a sandisk CF card 1GB at the pcmcia slot using a pcmcia adaptor. Everything apparently works fine except that X won't shutdown neatly. below is the dmesg file and some notes to shutdown the machine "properly" prior to getting further assistance/advice from readers of this mailing list. Thanks.

BEFORE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE KEYMAP PROBLEM
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
After X failed to exit neatly, a sample of the "new" keymap (N.B. some keys become inactive) and probably useful becomes
  <+/=> -->  return /* VERY USEFUL */
<ctrl Q> --> previous commands /* VERY USEFUL*/
<shift><6/^> --> & /* VERY USEFUL */
  <_/-> --> clear screen
<3> --> ctrl D
<L> = }
<Q> = ;
ctrl-C gives "."
  press {+/=} goes to shell [tcsh shell -- from 2.02 package]

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
PROBABLY A GRACEFUL SHUTDOWN
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
  Key-in <ctrl><Q> gives previous command /* Telios AJ1/Ctrl Q */
Key-in <+/=> gives a "RETURN"
Thus <Q> <+> => previous command + return
  I have previously key in
  setenv DISPLAY 192.168.10.32:0 /* which is the ip for my SGI O2 machine */
  xterm -sb &
  So I have the display displayed on the SGI O2 machine, su to root and perform a normal shutdown of my SHARP HC 7000.
