It appears to die in the dependency cario for me on the cobalt Qube2.

If there's a way to build it on the command line only, maybe I can try
that but it won't happen anytime soon.

The 780 may not have the horsepower to run ethreal... You might try
using tcpdump then looking at it with ethereal on another machine?
