Compiled links-gui overnight; I'll send the packages to Torsten to 
make available online. This actually works pretty well ("links -g") 
with an nfs swap setup.

This actually tempts me to try to install a microdrive so that I can 
use it for swap. Is there a way to to use a standard CF as swap in 
such a way as to minimize the number of individual writes to prolong 
the life of the CF?

Too bad no one makes a combo microdrive + wireless nic pcmcia card.
