There is absolutely nothing wrong with current AMD CPUs. (I heard the
very first 486's had a few problems, but that was LONG ago.) NetBSD
kicks ass on my AMD 486DX2/80. I can't comment on your motherboard,
but you shouldn't feel shy about buying an AMD chip in it.
