Does it segfault when you double-click an icon to execute a program?
I had this problem too, and it turned out to be a problem with the permissions
on the /usr/local/lib/executor files. I was running su-ed as root at that time.
When I chowned the files to me, and ran it as myself, things were ok.

Also, I have seen Executor dump core on a Linux system, so it may not
always be an emulate problem (after all, they call this version 'unsupported'
I believe')
