If you mean you want your ISP to do the resolving of hostnames for you,
you do not need to run named at all.  Edit/create the /etc/resolv.conf
file and add "server {your ISP DNS host here}" and "domain {your ISP's
domain here}".  Also, turn off named startup.  Note that your ISP's DNS
host must be in your /etc/hosts file -- or stated as an IP address.
