Last I saw, the Linux and BSD/OS drivers were for the `smart' boards.  I 
worked for quite some time on a PC/8 `dumb' board before I finally gave 
up; no documentation, no vendor support, and a tendency to hang the 
system combined to thwart my efforts.  It's gone now, traded for an AST 4 
port board filled with 16550s.
