The Mitsumi CD-ROM supported is an older one with a relatively simple 
interface card; it's not an IDE interface.

I believe someone has done some work in that direction, however.  I'll 
have to leave it up to someone that knows more about it, since I don't 
have an IDE CD-ROM myself.
