port-i386: NetBSD/i386 doesn't like NCR5383 PCI Controller

I installed NetBSD 1.0, and when I boot from the hard drive it goes into 
a kernel panic and drops into db>.  I tried to install 1.10 from 
ftp.wasabi.com the kdb disk gave me a bunch of error messages which
had to do with my disk geometry, but booted. when I tried to install
it came back with IO error.  It seems that the install can't over write an
existing bsd file system.
