Guys, guys.

This is religion. An Emacs vs vi kind of thing. Maybe even Ford vs
Chevy. I can only make recommendations for hardware based on my own
experiences, and those experiences will also generally reflect a
singular set of goals. I build big honkin' systems for hanging lots
of users off of and this is what has worked so far for me. Your
mileage may vary. Maybe you can even build ones that work flawlessly
for less money - if so, then well done! I'm from the old school
though, and I believe in waving a chicken and burning feathers if it's
something that's worked in the past.

So it is with parity. Some like it, some don't, end of story. I also
don't think that it's useful or realistic to go looking for "universal
truths" when planning a system purchase since there really aren't very
many. The best you can hope for instead is to weigh the testimony of
various people who've done it before, judge the empirical evidence
they have to back up whatever claims they may make, then make your
decision.
