	I did something like this for some time: OS-BS20B8 to boot from
a partition on my second IDE disk where there were (modified to include
'-r' by default) boot blocks and a 2M partition with a kernel (with
"config netbsd root on sd0 swap on sd0") in it, all on a machine where only
the IDE disks could be seen from BIOS.

	It works, nicely, but of course if the kernel pukes on you, you're 
more SOL without a boot floppy that can boot it.

	My mistake was my "kernel" partition wasn't large enough to hold
more than one kernel.
