I'm using an IDE drive. My system has an old 40 meg drive ask
it's only disk. It has 8 meg of RAM, and a combo 16550/ide board.
Most of the action on the system involves NFS... except root and swap
are on the local 40 meg drive.

I have generally found that PPP runs much better than uucico
on the port, but I'd like to know what parameter you've changed... and
where I can apply that patch. This machine is dedicated to running my
modems, so I don't care how much of the kernel is thown at the serial
ports and/or how hard the interupts hit the machine.
Dave.
