To whom it may concern, I've been running NetBSD on my Cyrix 486DX4-100Mhz(actually a 486DX3-99.9Mhz, but who's counting) box for several months now, have even recompiled the kernel many times, and have experienced no CPU related problems. Don't know whether this relates to the reliability of Cyrix 586 or 686 chips under NetBSD. -Zach Fine czyz@u.washington.edu
