I am trying to install NetBSD 1.2 i386(via ftp) on a Compaq Deskpro 4/66i
I can get as far as the shell(configured disk ok) but have problems configuring
my network card (have tried both Intel EtherExpress & NE2k)
When I run the ifconfig command I get a message like S*CGI* flags
or something like that.
I have spent over 8 hours trying different things(different IRQ's & port
addresses) nothing seems to work.
On Intel I'm using the following command:
ifconfig ie1 <ip> netmask 0xffffff00
With the NE2k card I'm trying
ifconfig ed2 <ip> netmask 0xffffff00
netmask = 255.255.255.0
when I do ifconfig -a I get
le0
sl0 <- pretty sure it says sl but do not see this in the INSTALL list
sl1
Any help/ideas will be appreciated.
I'm installing the OS on an external SCSI Jazz Drive(1GB) I don't
think that is relative but you never know.
