Dear All,
I installed a new motherboard (Asustek TX97-E) and a new CD-ROM drive in my
NetBSD 1.2 machine. Everything else seems to work ok, but the new CD-ROM
isn't recognized by NetBSD. All I get is "wdc1: reset failed" in the boot
messages.
The PC BIOS sees the ATAPI drive without problems and lists the drive type
and manufacturer every time I reboot. The CD-ROM drive is a 4x changer
(ALPS something) and I have tried making it a secondary master and a secondary
slave - no help.
Any ideas? I would like to put my gateway machine back together.. :-I
(BTW, is it possible to read the CPU temperature and other hardware monitor
information from the chipset the way BIOS does?)
Thanks,
-jm
