i don't know if the DOS solution is what you need, but if you want to try it
check out FreeDOS (it's on sunsite.unc.edu to name one location)  i haven't
tried FreeDOS as i don't have a spare machine to try it on, but if you do try
it i'd like to hear how it worked.
