I haven't tried the Linux version, but i have had zero problems with
Communicator 4.04 Professional for BSDI 2.x working under NetBSD 1.2.1
and 1.3. Then I followed the defaults in the install script and then
symlinked /usr/local/bin/netscape to /usr/local/netscape/netscape.
I'm not sure, but perhaps there is an option you need to add to your
kernel config file? I have heard of people having problems with the
BSDI 2.x version that reported the BSDI 1.x version working fine on
their NetBSD systems. I am using Communicator to compose this email so
I'd have to say yes, it can be done.
