Hello all. I'm just curious if anyone out there has thought about
trying to port the 'Advanced Linux Sound Architecture' (ALSA) driver
to work with NetBSD.

It's basically an open source, GPL'd OSS driver and then some. Check
out:
	http://alsa.jcu.cz/

As a Gravis Ultrasound owner, I've thought for a while now that it'd
be neat if the 'Linux Ultrasound Project's driver
(http://home.pf.jcu.cz/~perex/ultra/) were ported to NetBSD. It looks
like the ALSA is an outgrowth of the Linux Ultrasound Project, and
would be no less useful.

If a couple of NetBSD folk want to work with me on this, I'd be
willing (happy) to contact the ALSA folks and coordinate a NetBSD port
of the driver, or contribute code if someone more experienced in such
things is interested in coordinating such a project.

Any thoughts? Suggestions? Takers?
