A couple months ago I wrote about a problem using a 3Com Etherlink III w/
my notebook, which I had been hoping to install NetBSD on. Failing to come
to a resolution, along w/ little support for the NeoMagic graphic chips,
I put Solaris 2.51 on the system (2.6 wouldn't recognize the pcmcia cards,
along with no graphics support on this), and plodded along.
Having recently had source-code withdrawal symptoms, I have decided to try
once again to see what can be done. One new thing is that I got an Adaptec
1460 card for the system, for tape devices and such, and tried my luck
with NetBSD, and alas, it doesn't want to do anything with the card once
a shell is accessible - the card and devices probe, but no access. Same
situation with the LAN card - the card registers, arp packets go out, but
nothing ever goes in.
Well, I'll probably install things anyways on the system for access to the
source code while traveling, but it would sure be nice to get some external
access to the system other than the floppy drive. Attached is the kernel probe
from a 1.3E install floppy, with PCMCIA in verbose mode. Any suggestions as
to where to even look would be greatly appreciated.
