Doscmd still works for me, but only on my aging 1.2 system (and I expect
it will stop working when I upgrade to 1.3.2).

Have you looked at pcemu?  It's all done in software, and I found that it
works much better than dosemu when it comes to keyboard handling (the
only drawback is that it's much slower).
