Unlikely.   I agree that if we can make this not screw up your SCSI
card, that's what we should do, but it's important to get past this
somehow.   My personal vote is just an i386 boot flag with a port
number to start allocating with and a pcic interrupt mask.   At the
boot prompt, you say ``boot netbsd.gz -A 3C0 -M FFC0'', or
thereabouts.
