Do I look like an imbecile, Todd? Would I bother if I hadn't checked
everything ordinary first?

The beta runs, the release version doesn't. Both are Linux ELF 32. Yes 
my kernel does not have COMPAT_SVR4, it does have COMPAT_LINUX and
EXEC_ELF32. As I noted, older ELF executables run Just Fine. "file"
recognises the newer and older file as both being ELF executables.

There's a bug.
