Thanks a lot. Yes, irq 9 was overridden by the card to
irq 3 which is used by com1, too. I've modified the
card's jumpers such that it is configured as we1 with
irq 10 (which seems to be unused otherwise). Now, the
machine boots fine -- with ttyflags.
