Hello
I installed NetBSD-1.4 in two different boxes with 3C980 network
card... at boot time, both machines crashed with the following
messages
/netbsd: ex0 at pci0 dev 13 function 0: 3Com 3c980 Server Adapter 10/100 Ethernet
/netbsd: ex0: interrupting at irq 10
/netbsd: ex0: MAC address 00:50:04:16:1a:40
/netbsd: exphy0 at ex0 phy 0: 3Com internal media interface
/netbsd: exphy0: 10baseT, 10baseT-FDX, 100baseTX, 100baseTX-FDX, auto
/netbsd: exphy1 at ex0 phy 24: 3Com internal media interface
/netbsd: exphy1: ignoring this PHY, non-zero instance
Then, panic in the "starting network" phase...
configuring network interfaces: ex0panic: exphy_service: can't isolate 3Com PHY
Stopped in ifconfig at _Debugger+0x4: leave
db>
I supose this card is supported because it appears in the man pages
(man 4 ex) and in the source code (/sys/dev/pci/if_ex_pci.c)
Is this card enough tested?
Thanks
