I've been looking at the config options in <arch/i386/isa/vector.s> --
ICU_SPECIAL_MASK_MODE and AUTO_EOI_[1|2].
Does anyone have experience in how these options interact with various screwy
chipsets now current?
I'm hassling with the VIA Apollo MVP3 and 586B. VIA doesn't even document the
imbedded 8259 clone in the 586B. I assume that due to PCI, the interrupt
handling is different from a "real" 8259, which is what I assume the default
kernel code is supposed to think it has.
