Yes, this is good advice, and I took it some time ago when
faced with an error message that would spew at a rate of
about 50 lines/second.  Fun!

The pop-up zero-sized windows appear mostly to be
dialogues asking for username/password (this is very
frustrating), with the occasional zero-sized accept-cookie
confirmation or secure->insecure or insecure->secure
transition confirmation also showing the same symptoms.
