I have a PCG-818, and I agree.  The keyboard is the best of the bunch,
where the bunch was limited to what I could walk into Fry's and buy.

Two coworkers of mine have Dell machines, and they seem to dearly love
them, and their keyboards.  I'm still partial to my Sony, but I did
have battery envy at IETF.  They'd have 6 hours, I'd have 3.  Now I
have a spare battery, so I have 6, too.  :)
