I'm not sure that I understand your question.
NetBSD has had USB support in releases 1.4, and in -current since
July 12, 1998 (see http://www.netbsd.org/Ports/i386/news.html). It's not
ancient, but it's been in NetBSD for a little while, now. (^&
Speaking for myself, I've not yet had a chance to play with it, since I
don't have any USB devices.
As for obtaining NetBSD on CD, there are some references off of
http://www.NetBSD.org for getting CD's.
STRONG NOTE: Get at least 1.4.1 (1.4.2 is immament, however). 1.4 had USB
support, too, but had stability problems (I had lockups about once a week
under 1.4, as I recall). 1.4.1 fixed most or all of the problems that
were biting me, however; I don't think that I've seen any downtime (aside
from changing kernels) since upgrading to 1.4.1.
