What I've been using is this:

    gs -sDEVICE=cdj550 -dNOPAUSE -sOutputFile=- -sPAPERSIZE=a4 -q -dSAFER -

Note the absence of -dBATCH (doesn't seem needed?) and the addition of
-dSAFER.
