I noticed that lowering the vertical frequency from 70 Hz to 61 Hz makes
the problem go away - but it causes flicker in my monitor.

What is the recommended way of upgrading XFree on i386/1.4.2?

(The 5525ES appears to read old 150 MB tapes and it's currently writing
a 250 MB one, so..)
