assuming ThinkPad A20 has similar devices as T20, here's status
on T20.

USB, ethernet: works just fine.
sound: clcs driver supports it. there seem to be some PCI power management
related issue. workaround is to disable PCI power management from
BIOS control screen (i need to revisit it)
video (Savage IX8): XF86 3.3.6 comes with NetBSD 1.5 works, "as long as you do
not suspend the machine during your X session". if you suspend the
machine and resume it, screen may go mad.
modem: no hope. it is Winmodem.
pcmcia: fine. i have never tried CardBus.
