I have an i386 box, Pentium III 450 processor, Gigabyte GA-6VX Motherboard
(VIA chipset), with a Rage IIC AGP Card in. No other cards are present. I
have 64MB of RAM, and have tried different types of RAM. However, whenever I
boot up my newly installed 1.5 with GENERIC kernel, I get:

root on wd0a dumps on wd0b
root file system type: ffs
pmap_page_remove: pg=0xc06e6250: va=bfbfd000, pv_ptp=0xc0675d48
pmap_page_remove: PTP's phys addr: actual=0, recorded=1f9a000
panic: pmap_page_remove: mapped managed page has invalid pv_ptp field
Stopped in stty at cpu_Debugger+0x4: leave
db>

I have trie ddifferent BIOS settings with the same result. I have taken the
same hard disk, and put it in another machine with a slightly newer
motherboard (GA-6BXE,intel chipset), and it boots up fine.

Anybody got any ideas or suggestions as to what is causing this panic? From
my tests, I think it can only be a problem with the processor, motherboard,
or BIOS settings....

Thanks
 Bruce
