Hello,

I am having trouble setting X11 up to repeat keys the way I want.
I'm running XFree86 3.3.6 on i386. I have tried modifying repeat
rates in XF86Config and from GNOME control panel, but they appear
to have no effect on the settings.

However, from GNOME control panel, "Don't repeat keys" has the
effect it says, and if I change the repeat rates and click
"Try" I see on the console from which I started X:

SetKbdSettings - <settings>
SetKbdSettings - Succeeded

I run X with "Standard" protocol and XKEYBOARD enabled.

(Wscons is happy to set up the repeat rates correctly)
