My first try with ppp...via KDE...
I blundered my way thorugh setting up the modem by guess
and by gosh. Then tried to connect. It looked to have
actually contacted AT&T but then went kaput flashing
sine message about the pppd daemon dying unexpectedly. I
got this error.
pppd[342]: Can't open options file /etc/ppp/options: no
such file or directory.
In fact, there is no /etc/ppp/ directory at all. I
looked. I could make one, but where do I find out how to
create an options file for it to open?
Thanks,

PS It is no use asking the KDE folks, my Wasabi packages
are version 1.something and they only care about
2.x-plus. I'm a total Unix newbie, not at the point where
I can comfortably make and install from scratch. I just
want to get what I have going. And then I'll go on from
there.
