You have a symbolic link from /etc/localtime to /usr/share/zoneinfo/GMT  (or whatever
zone you are in) 
you can do this with
  ln -s /usr/share/zoneinfo/GMT /etc/localtime
Look in the/usr/share/zoneinfo tree for other zone files.

Configure /etc/ntp.conf with a local ntp server and set rc.conf to use xntpd to sync
with the ntp server.  Remember that ntp works in GMT/UCT.
