I am starting to think about an x86 laptop again, because my Mac is spending
too much time in the shop.

What's good?  "Good" means "stable, works well with NetBSD".  I have
historically been partial to thinkpads, but I'm willing to look at other
options.  Priorities are:
* No winmodems, no built-in hardware that doesn't work.
* High res display.
* Price must be reasonable.
* Reasonable expansion and features.  (e.g., PCMCIA, ethernet, etc.)
