Sorry, I lost the original poster's message.  I haven't tried it but what
about the staroffice package?  That seemed to handle the MS Office files
OK when I used it on a Linux box over the summer.  Also, has anyone managed
to get any of the OpenOffice stuff to ever compile?  Just a thought.
