FYI:

The secret to getting an HP Pavilion 7960 up and running 1.5.2 is to use 
the "flag 1" option on the usb* line in the kernel configuration, as per 
the usb(4) man page.

The only Catch 22 is getting a kernel built with a non-functional key 
board.  A friend with a 1.5.2 machine is the easiest way to build the 
necessary kernel.
