Go Intel CPU, and Intel IDE controller. Check out:
www.tayan.com
www.asus.com.tw
I used many different Gigabyte motherboards, I am very
disappointed with their latest offerings, quality is
well down. I used/using ASUS and Tayan motherboards in
around 15 Unix servers (all dual Intel CPUs), and at
least for different Unixes - no problems. Both have
m/b with RAID.
