Hi Scott and Kenjiro,

Re: altq 3.0 kernel interacts negatively with pppd?
(Mailing archives 10/17/2001)

Is there any solution for altq interacts with pppd?

My problem and Scott's are the same,
under NetBSD-1.5.2, altq-3.0 and ppp-2.4.0

According to pppd.log :
Serial connection established.
Using interface ppp0
Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/tty00
sent [LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <asyncmap 0x0> <magic 0xab9c6349> <pcomp> <accomp>]
rcvd [LCP ConfReq id=0xf4 <asyncmap 0xa0000> <auth pap> <magic 0xab5d4c2> <pcomp> <accomp>]
:
:
rcvd [LCP ConfReq id=0xfe <asyncmap 0xa0000> <auth pap> <magic 0xab5d4c2> <pcomp> <accomp>]
sent [LCP ConfAck id=0xfe <asyncmap 0xa0000> <auth pap> <magic 0xab5d4c2> <pcomp> <accomp>]
Modem hangup
Connection terminated.

It's sending LCP, but it never send IPCP/CCP.

I've no idea about altq's if.h, if_ppp.h.

About the ppp code, I think we should look at main.c: line 501-532 (ppp-2.4.0)
while (phase != PHASE_DEAD) {
  :
}

I'm trying to upgrade ppp-2.4.0 with ppp-2.4.1,
but there're many different codes inside, compiling error with "MD5".
(I'm still trying ppp-2.4.1...)

Is there any solution now?

Thanks,
Hendra

PS:
This problem is quite serious.
If system runs pptpd with this kernel, and pptp client try to connect, system will hang.
