Yes, you imagine correctly. :-)  I fetched syssrc.tgz from the
directory you mention below.

I cannot include 'dmesg' and 'uname -a' since the breakage includes
login apparantly (I can't log in).

I'll go fetch source from the NetBSD-release-1-5 directory and see if
that helps..
