ABIT KT7A-RAID v1.3 (Apollo KT133A chipset), BIOS upgraded to rev 9R
ATI RagePro AGP video (nVidia Riva TNT2 also tested)
"plain" AHA-2940, PROM rev 1.23

All devices on different irqs (pckbc0, com0, com1, pcic0, fdc0, lpt0,
bktr0, ne0, pccide0, ahc0). No devices in PCI slot #0 (that would be
shared with the AGP slot).

Works fine w/ XFree3
Works fine w/ XFree4 if AHA2940 removed

It makes me think that XF4 is doing things to the 2940 that it
shouldn't..
