There's a driver in current for the Libretto L2 (and probably other
toshiba laptops) that lets you control screen brightness, switch between
internal/external display and control the fan (off/auto) using the
standard Fn-number keys. Works well for me.

I think now we're waiting for someone to define the kernel/userland
interface, so we can start writing userland tools that tweak
power-saving modes and whatnot.
