Is "Smartcard" the same as "Smartmedia"?

I have a USB reader that supports about 5 or so media formats, including
"Smartmedia" and CompactFlash.  Under NetBSD -current, I can mount it
as a SCSI disk.  Under 1.6, I cannot do anything with it.  I can't rememer
who made the reader that I have.  (I've tried others that don't seem to work
even under -current.)

I don't know if that helps any, but I haven't seen anyone else address this
particluar point.
