Hello Greg,
Today I tried X for first time on a system of mine. I am pretty sure it
had been used with X under Linux (pkgsrc wip's XFree86) and maybe OpenBSD
too.
It worked for a while, but then I couldn't start it again:
(II) I810(0): xf86BindGARTMemory: bind key 20 at 0x00000000 (pgoffset 0)
(WW) I810(0): xf86BindGARTMemory: binding of gart memory with key 20
at offset 0x0 failed (Cannot allocate memory)
Fatal server error:
AddScreen/ScreenInit failed for driver 0
I saw your postings about this. Did you ever find out more about this?
Is your workaround of just doing printf()'s good enough?
I am using XFree86 Version 4.3.0 from
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/misc/jmc/X-1.6.2/
with NetBSD/i386 1.6.2_RC3
