Subject: NetBSD 2.0/2.0.2 NEC Cardbus USB Controller/External USB H/D issue.

Hi,

I've got a strange problem on my Mitac Laptop. I have a NEC Cardbus USB
Controller off which I wish to hang a IDE H/D in an external chassis.
When NetBSD boots, it find the controller, it finds the chassis (binds
umass) and finds the IDE hard disk.

BUT, when I try to use the harddisk (/dev/sd0) I come across a few
problems. With disklabel I can read the partition table and when I come
to label the disk with a new one, disklabel just sits there for about
20mins and then bombs out with a input/output error. After a reboot, the
new partition table is on there, but as soon as I try to newfs the new
slice... just hangs the session as soon as it starts to write the
superblocks..

Problem happens with both 2.0 and 2.0.2

Any help is greatly appreciated...

here is my dmesg:
