Indeed, my first though was /rescue but even if these binaries seem
secure (all these files are links to the same statically linked binary)
there is a (small) risk of that file being damaged.  On the other hand,
I suppose that these binaries require a bootable root filesystem.  IMHO,
/rescue is the right recovery environment for library related problems
but not for a damaged root filesystem.

Again, thanks a lot for this reference.  I will look at tech-embed right
now.
